1958 Triumph TR3A

Triumph TR3A 2.2 chassis no. TS41074L. This is a late 1958 example, accordingly built in December of that year. Finished in signal red (from factory) and Showing 22,800 miles, this is no ordinary TR3A. It has been fitted with a Revington TR stage one kit combined with a lightened flywheel and tubular exhaust system including balancing of the crankshaft, clutch and pulley, conrods and pistons with a fast road camshaft. The engine was rebuilt by Jim Stokes of Waterloovile. This rebuild included all new parts from crankshaft upwards with oil pump, timing chain with ancillary parts, conrods, pistons and more. Other work also included push rods, valve springs and rocker arms. The clutch is from a Triumph TR4A and is attached to a TRA4 light weight steel flywheel, which totally improves the whole driving experience of the car. The gearbox is a fast road/competition up rated Triumph TR6 hybrid, straight 4 speed 4 synchro box without overdrive. The input shaft and clutch fork fitment are also TR6. It has a high torque starter motor and the radiator is a non standard, bespoke with electric fan and narrow belt convertion kit. It has also been fitted with magnecor plug leads with iridum spark plugs and a 3.0 OHM Pertronix Flamethrower coil. The exhaust is a stainless steel, Phoenix 4 branch tubular system with Zircontec coating. The interior has been re trimmed in ivory leather with Mazda seats and detachable headrests, which makes it much more comfier and useable. It was delivered new to the USA with black interior and the white side screens and softtop finished in white. The passenger footwell is fitted with a rare TR Italia footrest. The condition of the interior is superb as is the soft top and side screens. Amongst the history is lots of old MOTs, previous invoices, service information, tax discs, spec sheets and more. A restoration was carried out throughout the late 90s and early 2000s, and it still remains in a flawless condition throughout the bodywork and underneath. The paintwork is lovely and the Lucas L576 spot lamps on the front compliment the car really well. It’s also just had an MOT with no advisories. £24,995 any inspection welcome and delivery available.
